チュラロンコーン大学研修生の成果発表会 Final presentations of Chulalongkorn University students from Thailand

　タイの名門チュランロンコーン大学からの学生の研修も終了を迎え、7/31に彼らの研究成果の発表会が開催されました。(撮影してくれた小圷君に感謝します。)
  The internship for students from the Chula. Univ., which is the top university in Thailand, approaches to the end.  The presentations for their internship were carried out on July 31.  (I thank Mr. Koakutsu who took photos. )

例によって最初は、受入れ責任者でもある本学副学長、教授の上平先生からのご挨拶。

Same as before, Prof, Uehira, who is a vice president and at the same time responsible for this internship, declared the start of the meeting.

多くの聴講者が集まったのですが、全景の写真がないです。申し訳ありません。

　多くのことを新たに学ぶ必要があったと思います。プログラミング言語（C++）、3Dプリンタなど実験装置の扱いなどなど。個々の課題に解析、実験データの取得と評価を通してアプローチし、短期間ながらも発表できるレベルにまで結果を出していました。真摯に、熱心に各テーマに取り組んできたことが分かりました。立派でした。タイに戻ってから卒業研究をしていくことになるようですが、そのテーマとして今回のものを継続していく、という話も聞きました。

  I think that they must learn and absorb much knowledge and skills, for example, C++ programming, method of handling the equipment such as 3D printer etc.  They investigate each theme by analyzing, acquisition of experimental data and evaluation.  Their internship term is not so long, nevertheless they have reached to the level for presentation.  They must make effort sincerely and diligently.  How great they are!  Returning to Thailand, they are scheduled to work for graduation research.  I heard that some of them continue the themes of this internship.

President, Komiya joined the meeting and made closing speech.

最後に、学長から個別に今回の”国際情報技術研修プログラム”の修了書が授与されました。

At the end, President Komiya awarded the certificate for this “International Information Technology Training Program”.

長いようで、短くもあった三か月だったと思います。この1枚がよい思い出となることを祈念しています。

This term of 3 months is seemed to be long, but short.  I hope that this one shot become precious for their memory.

先輩のピアラットさんを囲んで。このインターンシップは、彼女の支援、協力があったればこそと思います。後ろ姿の撮影者は国際課の奥田さん。国からの資金獲得を含め、宿泊先の確保その他、もろもろの手配全て、このインターンシップの大きな功労者です。心から感謝します。

Surrounding Dr. Piarat, she is their senior.  The success of this internship is brought by her devotional support and cooperation.  The photo taker showing back is Ms. Okuda of KAIT international section.  She got grant for this internship from Japanese government and took care of them including the preparation for accommodation etc. They are great contributors for this internship.  We profs. want to express our special thanks to them.

　8/5に帰国の予定です。5/20の歓迎の昼食会が遠い昔のようにも思えます。彼らにはよい思い出を残してほしい、そしてタイでも大いに活躍してほしいと願っています。あわせて、今回の彼らの研修が本学とチュラロンコーン大学とのより深い交流の一歩となることを期待しています。

　They will return to Thailand on August 5.  I feel as if the welcome lunch on May 20 were long ago.  We hope that they remain good memory for Japan and KAIT.  We all hope that they all have an important role and make success in Thailand.  In addition, we are expecting that this internship become the beginning of our deep relationship between KAIT and Chulalongkorn University in the future.
