Sightseeing tour to research institution of Japanese company

A graduate student Ebihara submitted an article.  I upload his story.

On 12th July, we went to two research institutions with Chula members.

The one is Railway Technical Research Institute (RTRI), the other one is Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation Research and Development Center (NTT R&D Center).

Unfortunately, we were told that taking photos in the laboratory was prohibited in both places.

I'm sorry that photos is less.

After gathering at KAIT, we departed for the RTRI.

We arrived at neighbor place, Railway Information System Corporation, by mistake, but there was no problem.

We reached the RTRI soon.

In the RTRI, we saw some R&D results such as station simulator, large-scale shaking table, tester for air spring for railroad vehicle, and so on.

Chula members' major is different, but I think they were interested in these study.

Next, we went to NTT R&D Center.

After arrival, we had wonderful lunch soon together.

This lunch was full of foods, so we were full.

After lunch, we had some explanation of study by NTT staff.

There were many studies such as multicore optical fiber, new optical fiber cable, reverberation and dereverberation control technology, omnidirectional audio-visual experience and so on.

We were surprised by new optical fiber cable because it went through inside of a winding pipe smoothly by great flexibility and low friction.

We are grateful to very kind staffs of both the companies.

 

Sightseeing tour had finished already, but we were looking forward to something.

It was to eat sweets!

We went to Sweet Paradise near Hon Atsugi station.

We were chatting while eating sweets.

Not only sweets, but also curry and spaghetti were served in this restaurant.

 

Prof. Tanaka was talking with Chula members.

They might have been tired, but they became lively by chatting.

We ate ice cream and gelato and we were able to also make some waffles and cotton candies.

We were full, so we went home with satisfaction.

I wish that the experience of this tour became their precious memory.
