Six students of Chulalongkorn Univ., who have come to the information faulty for internship (Link1, Link2) since May 20th , visited our laboratory. This is an article on this visit.
直前まで学生諸君は英語のプレゼンの練習をしていました。一度に複数の学生の英語が聞けるような状況になることは、想像だにできませんでした。これもグローバル化につながっています。
The students of our
lab. were making practice of English presentation for their research themes
just before the scheduled time of lab visit.
I could not imagine this situation, that is, many students in our lab.
were practicing the presentation by English.
This surely leads to globalization of our university.

and good. But I think that the smiles of
our side including me are unnatural and insufficient. By the way, where is Ebi chan? We all thank to Mr. Sawada, we call him Julie,

この研究室の研究領域は、知的環境とセンサネットワークです。ワイヤレス通信と情報技術の協調分野です。今回は、各担当（修士5人）が各自のテーマの説明を行い、その後にデモンストレーションを行う、という手順で行いました。5つのテーマと担当者は以下です。
・音による高精度屋内測位（屋内版GPS）：金田一将
・光学カメラとカラー手袋を用いた手話認識：柴田紘俊
・電動車いすの屋内自動走行：法月佑太
・クラウドサービスと連動した発電バイクシステム：海老原樹
・多様なヒューマンインタフェースによる機器操作：村田翔太郎
The research region of this lab. is ambient
intelligence and sensor network. This
region is cooperation field of information technology and wireless
communication. Today, five graduate
students explained their own research themes, and did demonstration of their own
system, respectively. The five themes and
graduate students in charge are as follows.
・High-accurate Indoor Positioning
System by Sound (Indoor GPS): K.Kaneta
・Sign Language Recognition
by using Optical Camera and Colored Gloves: H.Shibata
・Automatic Traveling of
Electrical Wheelchair in Indoor Area: Y.Norizuki
・Aero-bike Power Generation
System cooperated with Cloud Services: T.Ebihara
・Equipment Operation System
by Various Human Interfaces: S.Murata
5人の大学院生が説明しました。プレゼンの状況です。普段の研究室のミーティングと同じような感じで聞きました。説明した学生にとっても英語でのプレゼンは初めてだったので（村田君以外）、大いに勉強になったはずです。また、自分の英語が通じることに驚いたかもしれません。

graduate students explained research themes of their own. This is example of a presentation scenery. We all listened by sitting around the desk
like the ordinal meeting in our lab.
Since the presentation in English was the first experience for all
graduate students except Mr. Murata, it must become very good experience for
them and give good effects for their growth.
They might be surprised that Chula. students understood their English
explanation.
システム実演を介して交流している学生諸君たち。質問も多く出ました。皆さん、いつも礼儀正しく、熱心に聞いてくれます。ありがとうございます。学生を引率、当方の英語が十分でないときに、追加説明をしてくださった、Dr. Jipに感謝したいと思います。

express special thanks to Dr. Jip. She navigated
them to our lab. and added explanation to Chula. students when our English
explanation was insufficient.
せっかく研究室に来てくれたので、研究室の配置を見てもらったり、研究以外の話もしました。私のジョークも通じました。単にタイの秀才というだけではなく、話題も豊富で、手強く？、スマートで楽しい相手でした^_^。
In
addition to research topics, we made them see the lab’s environment and
talked except research topics. They understood my poor joke. They are
not only bright persons in Thailand but also tough?, smart and pleasant guys ^_^.
予定の1時間を超え、1時間半となる見学となりました。研究内容を種として、交流や相互理解が深まったと感じます。学生諸君も交流を深めていく／世界を広げていくためのツールとしての英語の必要性を実感したと思います。もちろん、中身やお互いを理解しようとする気持ちが最も重要です。今後ますますチュラロンコーン大学との関係が深まることを願っています。
Schedule was one hour
lab. visit. I feel happy that it took
about one and half. I think we made good
international exchange with Chula. students by lab. visit, presentation,
demonstration and Q&A. Japanese
students recognized strong necessity of English as a tool for communication and mutual understanding in order to make
friendship or enlarge their world. Of course, the most important
thing is contents and the heart or intention aimed to cooperation. We hope that the relationship between KAIT
and Chula. Univ. will deepen furthermore from now on.

今日は、小圷（こあくつ）君が教育実習で不在だったので残念でした^_^。今度は彼が在室しているときに訪ねてほしいです。
I
am very sorry that Mr. Koakutsu was not in lab. today^_^. He is now taking an internship at high school
to get a teacher’s license.
