共同作業中です Working together

　タイの名門チュラロンコーン大学から11名の研修生が本学部に来たことは既に述べましたが(リンク)、さっそく研修テーマの取り組みに着手しましたので、そのもようを。

I have already reported that 11 students from The Chulalongkorn University, the most prestigious university in Thailand, came to the Faculty of Information Technology (Link).  Since he (Mai kun) started to try the research theme of this internship, I would like to introduce its situation.

研修テーマは、手話認識に関するものです。M1の小澤君、B4の岡安さんのチームに加わってもらいました。研修生のMai君は、4年生を終了し、帰国後は大学院へ進学予定です。

His internship theme is about sign language recognition. He joined the team of Mr. Ozawa (M1) and Ms. Okayasu (B4). Mai kun has finished the undergraduate course and will proceed to the graduate school after this internship.

 

ここは、二人に任せました。Mai君は、Python、Java、MATLABの経験があり、卒業研究ではMATLABを使用していたそうです。プログラミングのスキルは十分あるようです。数学もですね。「彼らの説明が分からなければ、あとで私に聞いてね。」と言って、私は会議に向かいました。

The explanation was done by them.  Mai kun has experience of Python, Java and MATLAB.  He used MATLAB in his graduation research.  I understand that he has high skill for programming, and also mathematics.  I said to him, “If you cannot understand their explanation, please ask me later.” And I left for attending the meeting.

会議から戻って、「彼らの説明、分かった？」という質問に対して、分かったとのこと。画面を見ると、既にプログラミングを始めていました。ちょっと修正すれば、いいだけなので、C++でやる、ってことでした。さすがは、タイのトップ大学の学生です。

After returning from the meeting, I asked him, “Could you understand their explanation?”  He said “Yes”.  When I watched the display, he has already started the programming.  He said, “Tiny modification is required. Therefore, in this case, I design the program by C++ language.”  It’s great.  He is surely a student of the top of Thai university.

 

　ということで、まだ歓迎会をしていない状況にもかかわらず、打ち解けて、意思疎通もできているようです。研修は8月上旬までの予定ですが、大いに日本での生活を楽しんでもらいたいものです。

  Although the welcome party is not held in this lab, they seem to be friendly and communicate well.  This internship continues till the beginning of August.  We really hope that students of Thailand will enjoy Japanese life as well as internship program.
