一緒に作業中 －Working together －

タイの名門、チュラロンコーン大学から10名の研修生を受け入れています。5グループに分かれて研究室に所属してもらって、研究室のテーマに取り組んでもらっています。本記事は、その状況の一シーンです。
We welcome and accept the 10 students from Chulalongkorn Univerisity in Thailand.  They are divided to 5 groups and join each lab. They are engaged in each research theme as internship program.  This article describes one example of their activities in lab. 

掲載シーンは、若い世代の国際間交流という、理想的で教科書に出てきそうな光景です。彼らにとっては、聡明な女性に囲まれている自分の姿が信じられないことと思います。

The scenery is an ideal scene that shows the international exchange between young generations as if it were fetched from a textbook.  I think that two guys cannot believe their situation surrounded by two smart girls　(Ms. Pear & Kel).

こちらは、何のシーンでしょうか？何やら手書きをしながら説明しているようです。解析認識手順の説明をしているものと思われます。

What is this scene?  A graduate student （Shibata)is explaining by writing something.  I think this scene shows that he is explaining a procedure of recognition process for sign language.

What is this scene?  A graduate student （Kaneta) is explaining by typing a keyboard.  I think this scene shows that he is explaining a programming method for data processing.

 

 

本学に来てから、ほぼ１ヶ月経過しました。研修生にとって、環境が変わって大変な期間だったと思います。でも、異国にきて、課題解決に向けた共同作業をやっていくことや日本の生活様式に触れることは、彼らの人生に何らかのよい影響を与えるものと思います。その意味で、チョラロンコーン大学の先生方も協定校である本学へのインターンシップを彼らに用意していると思います。

One month has passed since they came to KAIT.  This period is thought to be severe for internship students since the environment has changed so much.  However, the experience, that is, having cooperative works in foreign country and staying in the different culture must give good influence to them and enrich their future life.  I think that the professors of Chulalongkorn University provide this internship program for their students for these purposes.

 

言うまでもなく、受け入れている我々にとっても大きな意義があります。ますます世界は小さくなっています。その中で、実際に他国の人たちと触れ合い、実際に課題を共有して課題解決に向かう経験を積めることは、本学学生にとっても大きな成長につながるものと思います。彼らが今後の両国を背負っていくことになるので、相互理解に加えて、友情を深めてほしいと願っています。

Needless to say, there is significant meaning of their stay for us.  The world is rapidly becoming smaller and smaller today.  Their internship at KAIT also leads to raise the possibility of KAIT students, because they can have chances of cooperative work for solving common theme.  I also hope that the friendship between two countries is deepened, and also they enhance the mutual understanding, because they will support their countries in future.
